I Joseph, American born from Toledo Ohio, but now a Colombian at heart where I have lived the last 21 years, have had 36 years of experience working as a volunteer and living and traveling extensively throughout the United States, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Venezuela, and now in Colombia a country of human warmth, people of character, beautiful customs, good food, exceptional women, and great weather with a variety of climates at close distances, etc. “A man's life does not consist only in the abundance of things that he possesses". It is said that it’s better "little with the fear of God, than to have great treasures but with hatred and strife", and "little is much with God, while much is as being a beggar without God". I was part of the hippy generation and discovered when I was a teenager in my time of searching for the truth, that material things were not able to fill the empty void in my life as I was living the American dream, and so I left my home in search of the real meaning and purpose to life and discovered that the things of this world can satisfy your body, but only God and his true love can ever fill that aching spiritual void of the heart, which is the same the world over. Jesus is the Lover of all lovers. I am not talking about a fabricated commercial religion, but in truly imitating and living the model of Jesus. Millions of INDIVIDUALS through the ages have come to personally know and love Jesus, and have been empowered by Him and His Words to lead wonderful lives of love and service to their fellow man. But sad to say, generally speaking, Christianity as an INSTITUTION has FAILED MISERABLY in fulfilling the mission that Jesus gave His original Apostles and followers: To share God's LOVE with a needy World! Most so-called "Christian" organizations and denominations have become so preoccupied with their internal squabbles, selfish accumulation of wealth, construction of elaborate and wasteful church buildings etc. that they have in effect forgotten and lost sight of Jesus' original command to "LOVE thy neighbor as thyself" Our objective is not to persuade you to become a member of a religious organization.--JESUS is not a religion! In fact, Jesus Himself never actually started any denominations or hierarchical organizations! He simply went about doing good, helping people and sharing the Love of God with all whom He could. He never had a synagogue, mosque, church or temple of any kind, nor did He have a congregation whom He met with on a certain "holy day" of the week. He never put up a sign or advertised, "Come to My church on Holy day!" He only said, "Come unto ME!"-- Matthew 11:28. "Love is God’s only law" God would rather that we give love to others instead of trying to be so perfect and righteous in our own self efforts and so-called own goodness which is said to be dirty, filthy rags in God’s Book. The only goodness we possess is God’s goodness.
I have a Foundation known as "Mundo
Vision" with the purpose of giving love and seeking the well-being and
conservation of the family unit by promoting ethics and value systems through
cultural and artistic workshops ,personal counseling, teaching English, etc, to
help raise their quality of life both in the physical as well as the spiritual
by establishing a personal connection with God and living by His rules of life
and love and happiness, along with the distribution of food, clothing, toys,
personal hygiene articles, etc., In deprived neighborhoods, Jails, our own
home, on the streets, and amongst some of our elite friends circles. Some people say", Oh how sacrificial you are, and I
always answer, No! It’s not a sacrifice, "it makes me happier than
them!" because true happiness
is not found in the personal pursuit of selfish pleasures and self-satisfactions,
but in finding God and communicating His life and Love to others and seeking
the happiness of others to your own. It is then when happiness pursues and
overtakes you without even looking for it for yourself! "Love is the only
law of God" and He would rather that we give love to others instead of
trying to be so perfect, religious, and righteous in our own efforts and thinking
that our service consists of just going to church on Sundays.
In the world there
is a lot of poverty, disease, and corruption but in reality all these are just
symptoms of the real and greater evil: the lack of love. "The Bible says
in James: 2: 15-17” If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And
one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled;
notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body;
what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
From what we have read, we know that in general the Governments, armies, and the great powers and empires tend to be the ones in charge of changing history and the social conditions of the earth and its people and that is why sometimes we get discouraged and think; well, who am I? What can I do? Everything seems so hopeless and impossible! Apparently, there is nothing that a single person can do to make things better. So, why even try? What shall I gain by trying? We are tempted to give up and get discouraged and let the world go to hell, which it apparently seems to deserve! You say it’s impossible to make a difference; it’s too late, too bad, too big, and too difficult. It may seem too complicated and too difficult to achieve, but that is no excuse to not strive individually and give of ourselves to help others. There is no greater poverty than loneliness and not feeling loved. The greatest disease is not cancer, or tuberculosis, or aids, but rather not being wanted, or loved, or cared for and abandoned. The worst evil is lack of love and charity, the terrible indifference toward our neighbor's at our side, affected by exploitation, corruption, poverty, and disease. "In this world there is more hunger for love and appreciation than for bread." Although more than 15 million children die every year of hunger, and more than 20 million adults while the U.S. Government pays farmers for not producing food to keep prices high. Sometimes we think that poverty is only to be hungry, naked, or without shelter. When actually the greatest poverty is not feeling loved. We need to start to eradicate this kind of poverty in our homes. Poverty exists in all social classes because no one is exempt from suffering, death, fear, or disease and no amount of money in the world can prevent or provide comfort in time of crisis due to the loss of a loved one. Our task is to encourage Christians and non-Christians to carry out works of love, and each work of love with all the heart. I invite you to participate in this great social work in Colombia and the world. "Don’t wait around for your leaders or for others to take the initiative;" you take the initiative and if you have to, do it alone, person to person.

Yo soy Joseph
Fuzessy un norteamericano nacido en Toledo, Ohio y ahora un ciudadano
Colombiano hace unos 21 años. Con 36 años de experiencia trabajando como voluntario
y misionero viviendo y viajando extensivamente en muchas
partes de los EE.UU., Hawái, Puerto rico, Islas vírgenes, Venezuela, Canadá, y los
últimos 21 anos en Colombia. Descubrí
que “la vida del hombre no consiste solo en la abundancia de cosas que él
posee”. A veces es mejor “poco y el temor de Dios, que grandes tesoros y odio y
contiendas”. Es decir, “Poco es mucho con Dios”, y “mucho es ser un mendigo sin
Dios”. Viví en la generación hippie y descubrí cuando era adolescente en mi
búsqueda de la verdad que las cosas materiales no eran capaces de llenar el
gran vacío en mi vida, aunque yo estaba viviendo el sueño norteamericano y deje
mi casa y amigos y familia para andar solo en el mundo en busqueda del sentido
real de la vida y un propósito para vivir. (Las drogas, meditación, amor libre,
filosofías orientales, viví en comunidades hippy en el bosque, y viaje por el
mundo sin un peso en el bolsillo, etc.,) ¡Aprendí que las cosas de este mundo
solo puede satisfacer el cuerpo, y únicamente Dios y Su amor verdadero puede
llenar el doloroso vacío espiritual del corazón, que El creo exclusivamente
para sí mismo y que El es El amante
de todos los amantes. No estoy hablando de una religión comercial, sino de vivir
e imitar el modelo de Jesús. Son millones las personas que a lo largo de los tiempos han llegado
a conocer y amar personalmente a Jesús y que han recibido de Él la capacidad de
llevar vidas admirables de amor y servicio a sus semejantes. Aunque es de
lamentar que, en términos generales, el cristianismo sea una institución
que ha incumplido rotundamente la misión que Jesús encargó a sus
primeros apóstoles y seguidores: ¡compartir el Amor de Dios con un mundo
necesitado de él!. La mayor parte de las organizaciones y congregaciones que se
dicen cristianas se han ocupado tanto de sus disputas internas, su acumulación
egoísta de riquezas, la construcción de suntuosos y costosos templos, que han
olvidado y perdido de vista el mandamiento original de Jesús: ¡amar al
prójimo como a uno mismo.

Organizamos eventos en los barrios marginados, trabajamos con niños, brindandoles amor, comida, ropa, juguetes, etc.,, y organizamos brigadas en las cárceles. “Muchos siempre dicen”, Oh!, que lindo, que sacrificado, y yo siempre respondo, No! No es un sacrificio, “esto me hace más feliz que a ellos” Porque la verdadera felicidad no se encuentra en la búsqueda personal de placeres y satisfacciones egoístas, sino en hallar a Dios, y en comunicar Su vida a los demás y en procurar la felicidad de otras personas. Es entonces cuando la felicidad te persigue, te desborda y se adueña de ti, sin tener que buscarla por uno mismo.
Me dices que no
podemos hacer un mundo mejor? Es demasiado tarde, demasiado malo, demasiado
grande, demasiado difícil. Tal vez nos parezca complicado o difícil de lograr,
pero eso no es excusa para no esforzarnos individualmente y dar de nosotros
mismos para ayudar a otros. No hay mayor pobreza que la soledad y no sentirnos
amados. En la actualidad, la mayor enfermedad no es el cáncer, ni la
tuberculosis o el sida, sino más bien el de no sentirse querido, ni cuidado, y
abandonado por todos.
El peor mal es la
falta de amor y caridad, la terrible indiferencia hacia nuestro vecino que ha
sido afectado por la explotación, corrupción, pobreza y enfermedad. “En este
mundo hay mas hambre de amor y de aprecio que de pan. “Aunque más de 15 millones de niños y más de 20 millones de adultos mueren
cada año de hambre, el gobierno de EEUU paga a los granjeros para no producir
comida y asi mantener elevado el costo de comida.
A veces pensamos
que la pobreza solo es estar hambriento, desnudo, o sin albergue. Cuando en
realidad la mayor pobreza es no sentirse amado. Necesitamos empezar a erradicar
este tipo de pobreza en nuestros hogares.
No olvides que, La pobreza puede existir en todas las clases sociales
porque nadie es exento al sufrimiento, la muerte, el temor, o la enfermedad,
algo que el dinero no puede prevenir ni dar consuelo en un momento de crisis o en
el momento de perder un ser querido etc.,
Nuestra tarea consiste en animar a la humanida, cristianos y no
cristianos, ricos y pobres, a llevar a cabo obras de amor, y que cada obra sea realizada
de todo corazón. Te invito a
participar en esta gran labor social en Colombia y en el Mundo. “No esperes a los dirigentes; hazlo
solo, de persona a persona.
